29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: On or about June 12, 2018 the employer failed to ensure that effective guarding was in place on the Caselss Uniloy PBM 1 Trimmer. The guarding was not effective in that it did not extend out and down enough to prevent employees from reaching the hazardous area. Superior Dairy, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, 29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1) which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1049216, citation number 1, item number 3a, and was affirmed as a final order May 14, 2015, with respect to a workplace located at 4719 Navarre Road SW, Canton, OH 44706.
