29 CFR 1910.132(a): Protective equipment was not maintained in a sanitary and reliable condition:   A.  On or about June 29, 2018, Pre-Finish Department:  In the following instances, the protective gloves provided on abrasive blasting equipment were damaged, exposing employees to the abrasive aluminum oxide blasting media:  1.  Empire Pro Finish blasting cabinet #3:   a.  A one-half-inch diameter hole in the mid arm of the left glove lining.  The hole was covered with black tape on the outside of the glove.  b.  A two and a half-inch tear in the seam of the left glove, near the center of the equipment.  c.  A one-inch break in the seam of the right glove, toward the right side of the equipment.  d.  A two-inch tear in the right glove, at the equipment face toward the center of the equipment.   2.  Empire blasting cabinet #2:  a.  A two-inch tear in the right side of the left glove.  b. A one-inch tear in the left side of the left glove, near the equipment face.  c. A one-inch slice in the right glove.
