29 CFR 1910.252(b)(2)(iii): Workers and other persons adjacent to the welding area were not protected from the rays by noncombustible or flameproof screens or shields: a) Midland Stamping and Fabricating Corporation, Schiller Park, IL- On August 29, 2018, welding screens were missing for the manual welding station where the seams are finished adjacent to the robotic welders exposing other employees in the area. b) Midland Stamping and Fabricating Corporation, Schiller Park, IL- On August 29, 2018, the welding curtain installed at the perimeter fence for the Welding Robot was not completely lowered to protect other employees. c) Midland Stamping and Fabricating Corporation, Schiller Park, IL - On October 10, 2018, at the MIG/TIG welding station the welding curtains on two sides of the station were not adequately closed and had large gaps exposing other employees. No abatement certification or documentation is required for this item.
