29 CFR 1926.501(b)(10): Each employee engaged in roofing activities on low-slope roofs with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet or more above lower levels, was not protected from falling by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, or a combination of warning line system and guardrail system, warning line system and safety net system, or warning line system and personal fall arrest system, or warning line system and safety monitoring system. Or, on roofs 50-feet (15.25 m) or less in width, each employee was not protected by use of a monitoring system: (a)Dalsin Inc., dba MJ Dalsin at 1900 Russell Street, Sioux Falls, SD 57104: On or about and at time prior to September 18, 2018, the employer did not ensure employees were protected from injury in that, five employees were installing roofing material on a commercial building as part of a roof repair project and were not utilizing a fall protection system. This condition exposed employees to a fall hazard of approximately 21 feet to the ground below. Dalsin Inc., dba MJ Dalsin was previously cited for a violation of an equivalent Occupational Safety and Health Standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1) which was contained in OSHA inspection number 943996, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on December 23, 2013, with respect to a workplace located at 3639 South Federal, Boise, ID 83705.
