29 CFR 1910.1053(e)(1): The employer did not establish a regulated area wherever an employee's exposure to airborne concentrations of respirable crystalline silica was, or could have been reasonably expected to be, in excess of the PEL: (a) Western Foundries, Inc. at 100 Martin St. Longmont, CO 80501: On or before 11/02/18 the employer did not establish a regulated area in accordance with this standard where employees have been known to be over-exposed to respirable crystalline silica. Employees are exposed to crystalline silica primarily in the mold, core and grinding areas of the foundry. This condition exposed employees to respirable crystalline silica.

The employer had conducted air monitoring and documented at least one overexposure to respirable crystalline silica. This condition exposed employees to respirable crystalline silica.
