29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. At a construction site located at 9590 NW Skyview, Kansas City, MO: Employees were exposed to fall hazards. This was demonstrated when a subcontractor was working next to unprotected sides and edges of the elevated work area. There were no means of personal fall protection or fall protection systems in place. Employees were exposed to an approximate 21 foot fall to the ground below.
