29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels are not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor provided with an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501(b): 1. Employees performing roofing work are not protected from fall hazards greater than 21-feet to the ground through the use of effective fall protection. The employer fails to ensure effective protection against falls, as required by the standard, as demonstrated on or about June 21, 2019, on the roof of a residential community clubhouse located at 2015 NW Golden Oaks Trail in Jensen Beach, Florida, where employees install roof pipe vents and peel and stick material on a roof with a pitch of 5:12. To abate this hazard, the employer must ensure that employees are protected from falls by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, or provided with an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501(b). CJM Roofing, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health standard, in OSHA inspection #1235090, Citation #1, Item #1, with respect to a workplace located at 11607 SW Rowena Street, Port Saint Lucie, Florida. The citation was issued on October 10, 2017, and became a final order on January 11, 2018.
