29 CFR 1910.1026(j)(1)(i): The employer did not ensure that all surfaces were maintained as free as practicable of accumulations of chromium (VI): FRCSW Building 472: Employees perform prepping and painting operations with PPG 44GN007 Base Component which contains chromium ingredients. In the following locations where employees work and take breaks, hexavalent chromium was found positive on surfaces from wipe samples: a) computer keyboard/mouse; b) production clerk computer keyboard/mouse; c) paint shop pedestrian door handle; and d) HAZMAT storage room door handle. Employees were exposed to irritation and ingestion hazards with hexavalent chromium.

A wipe sample obtained inside an employee's full-face respirator showed presence of hexavalent chromium. Employee(s) were exposed to irritation hazards associated with hexavalent chromium.
