29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks:    WORKSHOP/MILL DEPARTMENT: The ingoing nip point, created by wire and the take-up spool of the Rod No. 2 Waterbury Farrell mill was unguarded while the operator was performing set up and adjusting process.    On or about 10-01-2019, the operator's left index finger was pulled into the ingoing nip point while the operator was performing the above tasks, resulting in a partial finger amputation.      Rea Magnet Wire Company, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health standard, 29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA Inspection Number 1298710, Citation Number 1, Item Number 1, issued on 04-25-2018, with respect to a workplace location at 129 Soundview Road, Guilford, CT 06437 and became a final order on 05-22-2018.
