29 CFR 1910.132(a): Protective equipment was not used when necessary whenever hazards capable of causing injury and impairment were encountered: a) Melting Deck Area: On or about 2/27/2020, and at times prior, the employer exposed employees to burn hazards, in that personnel protective equipment (PPE) to protect lower extremities was not provided to employees while working within 1-2 feet of an open ladle, containing materials that are at temperatures of 2000-2300 degrees Fahrenheit.
