29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1): The employer shall ensure that each affected employee uses appropriate eye or face protection when exposed to eye or face hazards from flying particles, molten metal, liquid chemicals, acids or caustic liquids, chemical gases or vapors, or potentially injurious light radiation. a) Jara Construction, Inc; at a jobsite located at Lot 63, Old Bay Drive, Pataskala, Ohio 43062: On and/or preceding June 17, 2020, the employer failed to ensure employees wore safety glasses while utilizing power tools that presented struck-by hazards to the eyes and face. A roofer was using a pneumatic nail gun to install shingles to the roof. The employee was not utilizing eye protection, thereby exposing employees to struck-by hazards to the eyes.

Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system unless another provision in paragraph (b) of this section provides for an alternative fall protection measure. a) Jara Construction, Inc; at a jobsite located at Lot 63, Old Bay Drive, Pataskala, Ohio 43062: On and/or preceding June 17, 2020, the employer did not ensure employees were protected from falls while engaged in residential construction activities. An employee was installing roofing materials without fall protection, thereby exposed to fall hazards of up to 10 feet 6 inches. Jara Construction Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1450503, citation number 2, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on February 6, 2020 with respect to a workplace located at Lot 5803, 2737 Summerland Loop, Powell, OH, 43065 Jara Construction Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1401142, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on August 30, 2019, with respect to a workplace located at 1450 E. Melrose Ave, Findlay, OH 45840.

The program shall enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and shall train each employee in the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards. a) Jara Construction, Inc; at a jobsite located at Lot 63, Old Bay Drive, Pataskala, Ohio 43062: On and/or preceding June 17, 2020,the employer failed to provide a training program for employee who were working on the roof of a two-story house. The employees did not know or understand the requirements for fall protection or the correct procedures required to minimize the fall hazards. Jara Construction Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1450503, citation number 2, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on February 6, 2020 with respect to a workplace located at Lot 5803, 2737 Summerland Loop, Powell, OH, 43065 Jara Construction Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1401142, citation number 1, item number 3 and was affirmed as a final order on August 30, 2019, with respect to a workplace located at 1450 E.
