29 CFR 1926.652(g)(2): Excavations of earth material to a level no greater than 2 feet (.61m) below the bottom of a shield was permitted: On or about September 22, 2020, during the installation of a sanitary sewer line at worksite located at 1440 Dorsh Road, South Euclid, Ohio, the employer failed to ensure a trench shield system (trench box) was installed no greater than 2 feet from the bottom of a trench. The trench box was held approximately 5 feet above the bottom of the trench while an employee worked inside the trench.
