Such programs would support the employer and employees in identifying and avoiding potential hazards such as preventing falls from heights on the worksite.

29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1): The employer did not provide a training program for each employee potentially exposed to fall hazards to enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards: a) Antonio Martinez, on or about November 4, 2020 at the address of 653 Pine Valley Dr., Maumee, OH: The employer did not ensure employees had been trained in the appropriate use of fall protection such as, but not limited to, the use of personal fall arrest systems or alternative measures while performing various roofing operations, including but not limited to applying shingles. Employees were unable to identify fall hazards on the job site, exposing them to fall hazards of approximately 16ft.

Employees were exposed to up to 16 falls to the ground below in that their personal fall arrest systems did not comply with 1926.501(b).
