29 CFR  1926.451(e)(1): When scaffold platforms are more than 2 feet (0.6 m) above or below a point of access, portable ladders, hook-on ladders, attachable ladders, stair towers (scaffold stairways/towers), stairway-type ladders (such as ladder stands), ramps, walkways, integral prefabricated scaffold access, or direct access from another scaffold, structure, personnel hoist, or similar surface shall be used. Cross braces shall not be used as a means of access.  a. 52-56 Cambridge Ave Jersey City, NJ  Masonry workers engaged in masonry construction activities from a welded tubular frame scaffold used the scaffold frames in order to gain access to the working platform and were exposed to fall hazards of approximately 30 feet.  Violation occurred on or about 06/24/2021

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(10): Each employee engaged in roofing activities on low-slope roofs with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet or more above lower levels, was not protected from falling by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, or a combination of warning line system and guardrail system, warning line system and safety net system, or warning line system and personal fall arrest system, or warning line system and safety monitoring system.  Or, on roofs 50-feet (15.25 m) or less in width, each employee was not protected by use of a monitoring system.   a. 52-56 Cambridge Ave Jersey City, NJ  Masonry workers retrieved construction materials and performed construction activities on a roof surface in close proximity to an unprotected edge without adequate means of fall protection, thereby exposing employees to an approximate 20 ft fall hazard.   Violation occurred on or about 06/24/2021
