Opposite 196 Water St., Fitchburg, MA: On or about September 7, 2021, two employees were observed working in a 7 foot deep excavation with no safe means of egress. Specific abatement documentation that this violation has been corrected must be provided within 10 days of the abatement in accordance with 29CFR1903.19(d)(1).

29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system: Opposite 196 Water St., Fitchburg, MA: On or about September 7, 2021, Access to the egress ramp in an excavation that was greater than 7 feet deep required employees to leave the protective system in which they were working and travel through an unproteced portion of a 7 foot deep excavation to access the egress ramp. Specific abatement documentation that this violation has been corrected must be provided within 10 days of the abatement in accordance with 29CFR1903.19(d)(1).
