On or about 2 Sept 2021, at the Water Treatment Plant, Marriott's Frenchman's Cove, Saint Thomas, VI, the egress and exit route located in the back of the room was obstructed by metal scrap, old equipment and wood debris. Emergency eye wash and emergency shower were not available and operational in the immediate area when employees used and/or handled corrosive products such as Aqua Guard Chlorinating Sanitizer chemical during reverse osmosis water treatment operations. NOTE: Certification of abatement must be submitted for this citation item as required by 29 CFR 1903.19(c).

On or about 2 Sept 2021, at the Water Treatment Plant, Marriott's Frenchman's Cove, Saint Thomas, VI, the only fire extinguisher available at the entrance of the facility was blocked by the reverse osmosis equipment impeding the access to it in case of an emergency.
