29 CFR 1910.138(a): The employer did not select and require employee(s) to use appropriate hand protection when employees' hands were exposed to hazards such as those from skin absorption of harmful substances; severe cuts or lacerations; severe abrasion; punctures; chemical burns; thermal burns; and harmful temperature extremes.(a) (LOCATION) (IDENTFY SPECIFIC OPERATION(S) AND/OR CONDITIONS) (DESCRIBE HAZARD(S) WHERE NECESSARY) On or about October 14, 2021, at an establishment located at 164 West 28th Avenue, Oshkosh, Wisconsin, in the Conveyor Take Off Area; an employee using an aerosol-based spray system was applying Hentzen Black CARC 53039 Coating without wearing protective gloves. The Hentzen Black CARC 53039 Coating contains Homopolymer of Hexamethylene Diisocyanante which may cause skin sensitization.

29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(3)(ii): Training. Employee training shall include at least: (ii) The physical, health, simple asphyxiation, combustible dust, and pyrophoric gas hazards, as well as hazards not otherwise classified, of the chemicals in the work area: On or about October 14, 2021, at an establishment located at 164 West 28th Avenue, Oshkosh, Wisconsin, in the Conveyor Take Off and Assembly Areas; employees using an aerosol-based spray system for applying Hentzen Black, Green and/or Tan CARC Coatings to perform touch up painting were not trained on the health hazards associated with coatings. The Hentzen Black, Green and/or Tan CARC Coatings contains Homopolymer of Hexamethylene Diisocyanante which may cause respiratory and skin sensitization.
