29 CFR 1918.35:Employees were working around open weather deck hatches which were not protected by coamings to a height of 24 inches (0.61 m), or by taut lines or barricades at a height of 36 to 42 inches (0.91 m to 1.07 m) above the deck. a) Blue North Vessel: On or about March 22, 2022 an open hatch was found to be unguarded, exposing employees to fall hazards of approximately 38 to 40 feet to the hold below.
