29 CFR  1910.212(a)(2): Guard(s) on machine(s) were not affixed to the machine or secured elsewhere when attachment to the machine was not possible:  a)  F/V Northern Leader - Maintenance Shop:  On or about February 24, employees performing maintenance activities utilizing a Rong Fu Industry Co drill press (Model: RF-45, Serial Number: 33A0055) were exposed to injury in that the employer did not secure a protective guards to the drill press.  OSHA Instruction: Shipyard Employment "Tool Bag" Directive - CPL 02-00-162 allows for the applicability of 29 CFR 1910.212(a)(2) in the ship building and ship repair industry.

29 CFR  1910.215(b)(9): The distance between the abrasive wheel periphery(s) and the adjustable tongue or the end of the safety guard peripheral member at the top exceeded one fourth inch:  a) F/V Northern Leader - Ships Maintenance Shop:  On or about February 24, 2026 employees performing maintenance activities utilizing the Metabo DS 200 bench grinder were exposed to injury in that the distance between the abrasive wheel and tongue guard exceeded one fourth inch.  OSHA Instruction: Shipyard Employment "Tool Bag" Directive - CPL 02-00-162 allows for the applicability of 29 CFR 1910.215(b)(9) in the ship building and ship repair industry.

OSHA Instruction: Shipyard Employment "Tool Bag" Directive - CPL 02-00-162 allows for the applicability of 29 CFR 1910.215(d)(3) in the ship building and ship repair industry.
