29 CFR 1910.215(b)(9): The distance between the abrasive wheel periphery(s) and the adjustable tongue or the end of the safety guard peripheral member at the top exceeded one fourth inch: a) M/V Blue North - Ships Maintenance Shop: On or about February 23, 2026 employees performing maintenance activities utilizing the Baldor Bench Grinder (Serial Number X1210017515) were exposed to injury in that the distance between the abrasive wheel and tongue guard exceeded 1/4 inch. OSHA Instruction: Shipyard Employment "Tool Bag" Directive - CPL 02-00-162 allows for the applicability of 29 CFR 1910.215(b)(9) in the ship building and ship repair industry.
