29 CFR 1910.305(g)(1)(iv)(A): Unless specifically permitted otherwise in paragraph (g)(1)(ii) of this section, flexible cords and cables may not be used: As a substitute for the fixed wiring of a structure; a) On or about May 12, 2022, the employer did not ensure that flexible cords were not used as a substitute for the fixed wiring of a structure in that UFP Blanchester LLC. powered their 120-volt Night Owl Security Camera in building 2 with a flexible extension cord that was powered by a branch circuit and zip tied to the branch circuit's metal conduit. b) On or about May 12, 2022, the employer did not ensure that flexible cords were not used as a substitute for fixed wiring in that UFP Blanchester LLC powered their 120-volt wall-mounted Airmaster fan by a flexible extension cord powered by a branch circuit.
