29 CFR 1926.701(b): All protruding reinforcing steel, onto and/or into which employees could fall or come against, was not guarded to eliminate the hazard of impalement:   a) On August 9, 2022, employees engaged in framing work were exposed to the hazard of impalement due to reinforcing steel being unprotected.   In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).

29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1): Employees were not provided with eye and face protection equipment when machines or operations present potential eye or face injury from physical, chemical, or radiation agents:    a) On August 9, 2022, employees were exposed to eye injury while operating pneumatic nail guns without eye protection during framing work.   Maragos Construction, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1385343, citation number 3, item number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on May 6, 2019, with respect to a workplace located at 705 N. Elmhurst Rd. Prospect Heights, Illinois 60070.  No abatement certification or documentation is required for this item.

Maragos Construction, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1583375, citation number 2, item number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on May 5, 2022, with respect to a workplace located at 1791 Boundary Ct., Downers Grove, Illinois 60515.  Maragos Construction, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1385343, citation number 2, item number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on May 6, 2019, with respect to a workplace located at 705 N.
