29 CFR 1910.157(c)(1) as required by 29 CFR 1960.8(b): Portable fire extinguishers were not mounted, located, and identified so that they were readily accessible without subjecting the employees to injuries: a) Worksite, Department of Transportation Federal Aviation Administration building located at 4205 Johnson Avenue, Ronkonkoma, NY 11779 - A wooden pallet and boxes of materials were stored directly in front of the fire extinguisher mounted on the wall. This storage prevents ready access to the extinguisher and exposes employees accessing the extinguisher to injury; on or about 09/8/23. Note: Because abatement of this violation is already documented in the case file, the employer need not submit certification or documentation of abatement for this violation as normally required by CFR 1903.19.
