29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed: (a)Cardona Construction at 738 West 10th Street, Sioux Falls, SD 57104: On or about and at times prior to December 12, 2023, the employer did not ensure ladder being utilized for access to the roof area was extended at least three feet above the working level. This condition exposed employees to a fall hazards. Cardona Construction was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1910.1053(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1495372, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on 11/23/2020, with respect to a workplace located at 1000 East Teakwood Street, Brandon SD 57005.
