29 CFR 1910.176(b): Storage of material created a hazard: On or about January 30, 2024, a 2-tier (industrial steel) storage rack located in the fire lean-to/open garage area was not secured to prevent the storage racks from falling or tipping over. Employees who retrieved items from the storage rack, as well as other employees working in the immediate area, were potentially exposed to struck-by and/or crushing hazards if the storage racks were to fall or tip over.

29 CFR 1910.213(b)(3): Provisions were not made to prevent woodworking machine(s) from automatically restarting upon restoration of power after power failure: On or about January 30, 2024, employees tasked with operating a DeWalt Radial Arm Saw (Model: Unknown; Serial Number: 79270027), as well as employees working in the immediate area were potentially exposed to the hazards of a rotating blade if the saw was to automatically restart after power restoration from power loss.

29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): Machine guarding was not provided to protect operator(s) and other employees from hazards created by in-going nip points, rotating parts, and/or flying chips and sparks: a) On or about January 30, 2024, the employer exposed employees to amputation or caught-in hazards from rotating machine parts on two instances: Instance 1: In the warehouse/garage area, employees operating and employees working in the immediate area of a JET Drill Press (Model: JDP-14M) that did not contain a method of guarding around the rotating chuck. Instance 2: In the saw room, employees operating and employees working in the immediate area of an ACE 8-inch 5-speed Drill Press (Model: 27195C; Serial Number: 006057) that did not contain a method of guarding around the rotating chuck. The Bureau of Land Management was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1444720, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on May 7, 2020, with respect to a workplace located at Battle Mountain, NV. The Bureau of Land Management was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1535400, citation number 1, item number 1and was affirmed as a final order on July 23, 2021, with respect to a workplace located at Las Vegas, NV.
