29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1):The employer did not ensure that each affected employee was using eye or face protection when exposed to eye or face hazards from flying particles. At a commercial worksite located at Thompson Center Building, Park University, Parkville MO -- employees engaged in roofing duties using pneumatic nail guns, hammers and other small hand tools were not wearing eye protection. This exposed the employees to getting shrapnel and/or debris in their eyes causing injury. This was documented on or about 08/28/2024.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(11):Each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels was not protected from falling by guardrail systems with toeboards, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: At a commercial worksite located at Thompson Center Building, Park University, Parkville MO -- employees engaged in roofing duties of a steep roof were not wearing fall protection and/or were not tied off correctly. This exposed employees to fall hazards causing serious injury and/or death. This was documented on or about 08/28/2024. Marvin Omar Mejia was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1688327, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 5/2/2023, with respect to a workplace located at 3900 W. 140th Dr. Leawood KS.
