At the jobsite located at 6201 W 85th Street, Overland Park, Kansas, employees using a portable extension ladder to access the roof to perform roofing activities were exposed to fall hazards of approximately 10 feet from the roof to the ground. The side rails of the portable extension ladder did not extend at least 3 feet above the landing surface of the roof. The side rails extended approximately 2 feet.

Marvin Omar Mejia was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1638327, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 05-02-2023, with respect to a workplace located at 3900 W 140th Dr., Leawood, Kansas.
