29 CFR 1910.106(e)(6)(i): Adequate precautions were not taken to prevent the ignition of flammable vapors:  a)	Superior Tire & Rubber Corp., Plant 1 Metal Prep/Chemical storage/Barrel rolling department, On or about October 30th, 2024 and times prior thereto: 55 gallon drums of flammable liquids including, but not limited to, Chemlok 6224, Chemlok Thinner 248, Xylene, and 8292 Adhesion Promoter were not properly grounded to provide the dissipation of static electricity associated with dispensing of the liquid from the drums to smaller containers.

29 CFR 1910.106(e)(6)(ii): Category 1 or 2 flammable liquids, or Category 3 flammable liquids with a flashpoint below 100 �F (37.8 �C), were dispensed into containers without the nozzle and container being electrically interconnected:  a)	Superior Tire & Rubber Corp., Plant 1 Metal Prep/Chemical storage/Barrel rolling department, On or about October 30th, 2024 and times prior thereto: 55 gallon drums of flammable liquids including, but not limited to, Chemlok 6224, Chemlok Thinner 248, Xylene, and 8292 Adhesion Promoter were not bonded to smaller containers, during transfer, to provide dissipation of static electricity while dispensing the flammable liquids.

29 CFR 1910.133(a)(1): The employer did not ensure that each affected employee uses appropriate eye or face protection when exposed to eye or face hazards from flying particles, molten metal, liquid chemicals, acids or caustic liquids, chemical gases or vapors, or potentially injurious light radiation:   a) Superior Tire & Rubber Corp., Plant 1 Metal Prep spray booth area, On or about October 30th, 2024, and times prior thereto: Employees were not required to use appropriate eye protection while performing spray coating operations in the metal prep spray booth area. Tightfitting safety glasses and/or safety goggles were not required to be worn to protect employees from liquid chemicals that were being sprayed.   ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Abatement certification is required within 10 days after the abatement date noted on the citation (see below).  This certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date abatement was completed, method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.

29 CFR 1910.212(a)(4): Revolving drum(s), barrel(s), or container(s) were not guarded by enclosure(s) which were interlocked with the drive mechanism so that the barrel(s), drum(s), or container(s) could not revolve unless the enclosure(s) were in place:   a) Superior Tire & Rubber Corp., Plant 1 Metal Prep Barrel rolling area, On or about October 30th, 2024 and times prior thereto: Employees were not protected from potential caught in and/or amputation hazards in that, enclosers containing rotating 55-gallon drums were not completely guarded in the barrel rolling area.  The guarding enclosure for the barrel rolling area was not designed to keep employees from reaching into, under, over and/or around to protect employees from rotating parts, in that both sides of the encloser were open and not guarded.

29 CFR 1910.107(g)(7): "No smoking" signs in large letters on contrasting color backgrounds were not conspicuously posted at all spraying areas and the paint storage rooms:    a) Superior Tire & Rubber Corp., Plant 1 Metal Prep spray booth area, On or about October 30th, 2024 and times prior thereto: Areas around the spray booth area, where flammable liquids were sprayed, did not contain "No smoking" signage.
