Employees were exposed to a possible danger of eye injury from flying objects, while using a pneumatic nail gun to install drip edges on a two-story residential property.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor were employee(s) provided with an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501 (b). (a) On or about January 29, 2025, employees conducting roofing wok on an existing residential roof with a 5:12 pitch, were not protected from falling to the lower level. This exposed employees to a fall hazard of approximately 20 feet from the upper two-story roof and 10.5 feet over the lower garage roof. Zam Zam Roofing was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1622664, citation number 1, item number 1, group letter a, and was affirmed as a final order on October 24, 2022, with respect to a workplace located at 2126 N 15th Street, Sheboygan, WI 53081. Zam Zam Roofing was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1763055, citation number 2, item number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on October 1, 2024, with respect to a workplace located at 10230 S Nicholson Road, Oak Creek, WI 53154.
