Appalachian Wood Products, Inc. 171 Appalachian Drive, Clearfield, PA 16830: On or about 08/7/2025 and at times prior thereto, employees operating the Mereen Johnson model 620 straight to cut double end saw/machine #492 (Serial Number MJ-1678) in the Framing Department were exposed to the backside of the sawblade while operating the tail end side of the machine. Guarding was not used to prevent employees from contacting the backside of the saw blade during operation.   b.) Appalachian Wood Products, Inc. 171 Appalachian Drive, Clearfield, PA 16830: On or about 08/21/2025 and at times prior thereto, employees operating the Challenor straight to cut double end saw/machine #349 in the Framing Department were exposed to in-going nip point and entanglement hazards associated with the return end of the feeder chain. Sufficient guarding was not installed to prevent employees from contacting the moving chain while the machine was in operation.   ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED: Abatement certification is required within 10 days after the abatement date noted on the citation.  This certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date abatement was completed, method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement. IN ADDITION, abatement documentation shall include documents demonstrating that abatement is complete, such as evidence of the purchase or repair of equipment, photographic, or video evidence or abatement or other written records.

ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED: Abatement certification is required within 10 days after the abatement date noted on the citation.  This certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date abatement was completed, method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
