29 CFR  1910.176(b):Secure storage. Storage of material shall not create a hazard. Bags, containers, bundles, etc., stored in tiers shall be stacked, blocked, interlocked and limited in height so that they are stable and secure against sliding or collapse.  a) On or about 09/05/2025, the employer did not ensure that wooden crates with metal parts that were stacked three high were secured against sliding or collapse in that the wooden crates were severely damaged and held together only by a banding strap. As a result, employees were exposed to the hazard of falling crates and metal parts weighing approximately 100 to 700 pounds.

29 CFR  1910.212(a)(1):Types of guarding. One or more methods of machine guarding shall be provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks. Examples of guarding methods are-barrier guards, two-hand tripping devices,electronic safety devices, etc.  a) On or about 09/05/2025, the employer did not ensure that a Carlton Radial Drill press located in the manual cell had machine guarding for the spindle, exposing employees to rotating parts and entanglement hazards.  b) On or about 09/04/2025, the employer did not ensure that the Cincinnati Milacron 520-16 Series E milling machine, located in the manual cell, was equipped with a guard to protect employees from exposure to rotating parts such as the spindle exposing employees to entanglement hazards and flying sparks.
