29 CFR 1910.178(n)(8): Travelling. Under all travel conditions the truck shall be operated at a speed that will permit it to be brought to a stop in a safe manner. a) On or about November 13, 2025, the employer failed to ensure that powered industrial trucks were operated at a speed that permitted them to be brought to a stop in a safe manner. In the Coating Factory, a forklift was traveling at a speed that prevented it from stopping safely and struck an employee, causing the load to fall. As a result, employees were exposed to struck-by and crushing hazards resulting in an injury.
