On June 12, 2024, an employee was performing demolition work at a construction site and was removing large stone debris. The employee was standing close to a skid steer that had an elevated load. As the employee cleared debris from below the elevated load, a concrete slab fell onto the employee's thumb resulting in amputation at the first knuckle.
