What happened
Employee had started her housekeeping work duties in [REDACTED] 20. She moved a trash can in the house and discovered a chicken snake behind it against the wall. The employee was startled and reacted by jumping backwards and running out of the house to the farm break room approximately 1 6 mile from her house. The snake was disposed of and the employee completed her full duties for the remainder of the day without reporting injury. The following day she called in stating she could not come to work because of an unrelated medical appointment. She claims she felt pain but made not report or injury. [REDACTED] the incident the employee alleges she woke up unable to walk with severe pain in her left foot. During the initial investigation she told the supervisor she landed awkwardly on her left heel when she jumped. She contributed her reaction to a phobia or PTSD she developed as a child about snakes.
