Before the incident

Employee attempted to wipe drip tray while machine was running.

What happened

While working on the upper platform on the decorator stand an employee was adding ink to inker #4. The employee stated the particular ink was runny and dripped on the Z Guard of inker #5. The employee grabbed a rag and attempted to wipe the ink off of the guard. The employee stated when he tried to do this the rollers grabbed the rag up into inker #4. The employee 's left index middle and ring finger were pulled between the scrapper tray and the large form roll. The employee stated they were able to pull their hand back when this happened. The employee left the stand turned both line 2 decorators off and called for their supervisor. The supervisor called EHS to the first aid room. EHS examined the employee 's fingers. There was no visible bruising at this time and the employee was able to move their hand and fingers. There was a small scrape on the employee 's ring finger at the knuckle. The employee stated they were experiencing a lot of pain in their fingers. Specifically their ring
