The winder terminated and didn 't lock in causing it to run on the knurled edge and build a large wind-up band. This winder has had multiple work orders for this problem.

524 #18 ran a calldown and flipped over. The winder did not lock in and the strand ran on the knurled edge building a large band of glass. The sliver handler stopped the position off with the E-Stop and reset. He went to break moments later. The doffer was cutting the large wind-up band off of the knurled edge. The relief sliver handler unaware that the doffer was in the position stood the winder up. When this occurred the doffer 's left hand got caught in the wind-up band and twisted her hand. She experienced severe pain and came to report the incident.

Employee 's left hand was caught in the wind-up band and twisted when the winder was stood up.
