What happened

On [REDACTED] at approximately [REDACTED] an employee working as a Production Assistant reported an injury to their lower back due to feeling pain after bending down to retrieve a case from a pallet. The employee was working at the northwest end of the main aisle where the special project is being completed when the incident occurred. The employee stated they bent down to get a box and at that moment they felt pain in their lower back. The employee also stated they do not squat down to lower themselves to the cases but bend over instead out of habit. The employee 's environment was normal dry moderately temperate and clean. The employee is qualified to perform the operation and has been trained in the process which is not new. There are no tools required for the process. During the investigation it was discovered that the employee constantly bends over at the back to lift and lower cases and the employee has been standing to perform the work instead of using the provided chairs.
