The employee was attempting to use the pallet jack to load the truck for their delivery route

On [REDACTED] at approximately [REDACTED] an employee working as a delivery driver reported an injury to their left had due to getting caught between an electric pallet jack (EPJ) and the wall. The employee was working at [REDACTED] on the dock when the incident occurred. The employee stated that they were trying to move a pallet jack that had been parked against the wall (the handle was against the wall and the forks were pointing out) when their hand got caught between the pallet jack handle and the wall. The employee stated that the environment they were working in was normal and waws clean. The employee is qualified to perform the operation and has been trained on the process. The employee was using the appropriate tools for this process. During the investigation it was discovered that the employee was following the appropriate safety procedures which included performing their job as trained and there is no PPE required for operation of the EPJ.
