Assisting in the unloading of wine tankers.

On [REDACTED] at approximately [REDACTED] an employee working as a [REDACTED] reported an injury to their left foot due to falling from a tanker while attempting to step down. The employee was working at the exterior tanker unloading dock when the incident occurred. The employee stated they jumped down while facing backwards from the tanker and their foot landed on a 3 inch hose which caused them to fall on their buttocks. The employee stated that the environment they were working in was normal dry normal temperature and clean. The employee is qualified to preform the operation and has been trained in the process which is not new. The employee was using the appropriate tools for this process which is a hose. During the investigation it was discovered that the employee has a necessity to climb up onto the tanker to assess the level of wine during the unloading process and in this process there is no safe method to climb up or step down from the tanker.
