Putting reworks on the lami line

While performing rework tasks at Lamination Line 3 an employee was preparing to handle an oversized unit measuring 67 x 100 316 and weighing approximately 29718 lbs Rather than repositioning the pole rack closer to the trim section the employee and a coworker attempted to manually lift the unit from a staging area approximately 20 feet away During the lift the injured employee struggled to maintain a secure grip and attempted to reposition his hands Also one of the poles from the pole rack had fallen onto the floor and rather than picking it up the injured employee stepped on the pole which may have further compromised his balance and contributed to the incident In doing so the unit slipped and fell striking the employee in the leg and causing him to fall to the ground alongside the unit A first responder was immediately called and the employee was taken to the first aid room for evaluation Upon further investigation it was noted that the employee was wearing severely worn boots with t
