What happened
While operating an order picker an employee was delivering a pallet to a receiver on the ValueLink dock. The entire dock section was clear and unobstructed. Rather than utilizing the open space to turn and back into the drop-off position the operator drove forward directly into the area where the receiver was working and began turning the machine. No horn or other form of communication was used to alert the receiver of her presence prior to beginning the turning process. At that moment the receiver moved backward unaware of the order picker behind him. The operator was unable to stop in time resulting in contact with the receiver
