What happened

[REDACTED] was cutting 6 curtain hangers on the aluminum compound miter saw. He was cutting a 6 part off of a 13 drop piece. The piece he was cutting from wasn 't clamped [REDACTED] was holding the part with his left hand. The blade got caught in the piece of aluminum and threw it out. This in turn resulted in [REDACTED] 's left middle and ring fingertips getting cut from the aluminum piece as it was thrown away from the saw blade. These parts are scheduled to be cut on the Aluminum upcut saw but due to volume and capacity issues of planking and noses running through the upcut saw these parts were moved to the compound miter saw which is regulary used to cut aluminum conical rail and plastic dust covers.

Injury or illness

Left hand ring and middle finger diagonal laceration across the tip of the middle finger and laceration on ring finger on the tip. Employee received 7 stitches and has one hand duty for the rest of today.
