Before the incident

employee was standing in his cell welding on steel that was on 2 sawhorses.

What happened

wrapped steel was being placed on the top shelf on the rack adjacent to his. The forks of the forklift pushed the steel off the rack and fell into the employees cell. Once the steel fell off the rack it hit the part the employee was welding on in his cell causing the part to be pushed into the employees thighs. the employee fell backwards from the part pushing into him. employee stated he thought his legs were broken and did not want to stand up. EMT 's were called.

Injury or illness

employee stated his legs hurt from the part pushing into his thighs and could not walk. 911 was called and paramedics took the employee to the hospital on the stretcher. After getting to the hospital CT scans and X-rays confirmed that the employee had no broken bonesfractures sprains. just some bruising. employee was kept overnight for observation and released the next day with no issues.

tube steel falling from the rack and pushing the part the employee was working on into his thighs causing him to loose his balance.
