Passenger in motor vehicle

Our shift started at the [REDACTED] base we clocked in we then saw there were no ambulances and were directed to get one in [REDACTED] so we drove there in a personal car (we being [REDACTED] and I). We had also been told that after our shift after putting the ambulance back in the [REDACTED] base we could drive to [REDACTED] in our personal vehicle in order to clock out. During this period of travel from [REDACTED] to [REDACTED] we saw a family of civilians with intent to cross at a crosswalk. We came to a gradual stop in order to allow them to cross. A truck driver who admitted to having been on their phone (admitted this to the police) then rammed the back of our car. The car was severely damaged to the point of it no longer being able to be placed into drive neutral as well as having been displaced forward around 10-15 meters. [REDACTED] after the police had gotten on scene made sure to call [REDACTED] the FOM on duty in order to notify them that we would not be able to clock out a
