While attempting to train a new hire employee on changing grinding wheels on a spindle the lead employee was holding the assembled spindle and first wheel steady while explaining the next task in the process as it was suspended by the crane and crane attachment. The first employees left hand was resting on the leading edge of the first wheel on the spindle. The second employee pushed the second grinding wheel onto the spindle and up against the first wheel pinching the lead employees thumb between the two grinding wheels while he was still explaining the process.
