Team member on [REDACTED] [REDACTED] was trying to separate a trim roll with a metal wedge and sledge hammer He had already started wedge between the rolls and stated the wedge was in a upright position He kept his up hand choked up on the sledge hammer and as he brought the sledge down full force he missed the wedge and smashed his right index finger against the wedge He immediately felt a sharp pain and saw blood from the finger He immediately applied pressure elevated his hand and contacted his supervisor The tip of his right index finger was smashed resulting in a laceration of the right index finger Once bleeding was controlled team member was transported offsite to the emergency department
