P.L. 91-596 Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard(s) of crushing and struck-by: a)Truck maintenance shop, on or about July 21, 2011, and at times prior to, the employer did not ensure employees knew and understood the safe operation and use of hooks with functional safety latches in that the hook in use had a safety latch and it was damaged and continued to be used, which exposed employees to crushing and struck-by hazards. Among other methods, feasible and acceptable methods to correct this hazard include but are not limited to: 1.Conduct frequent and periodic inspections of the lifting device in accordance with ASME B30.10 ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION IS NOT REQUIRED
