29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employees were not provided effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard that the employees had not been previously trained about was introduced into their work area: a) On March 7, 2013, and times prior thereto, at the sawmill operation in Metcalf, GA, the employer failed to ensure that employees were trained on diesel motor fuel and battery-acid hazards when first hired, and when new chemicals were introduced into the workplace, exposing employees to related safety and health hazards. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION IS REQUIRED.
