29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. a. Technique Roofing Systems, LLC on August 6, 2014, at the worksite located at 120 S. First St. in Coldwater, OH: The employer did not ensure employees performing weatherproofing activities were protected from falls. Employees were exposed to falls of approximately 12 feet and up to approximately 30 feet on the unprotected edges of the roof. b. Technique Roofing Systems, LLC on August 6, 2014, at the worksite located at 120 S. First St. in Coldwater, OH: An employee performing window installation operations from a platform was exposed to an approximate 14 ft. fall hazard. The employer did not ensure that unprotected sides were guarded to prevent falls.
