The guarding device shall be in conformity with any appropriate standards therefor, or, in the absence of applicable specific standards, shall be so designed and constructed as to prevent the operator from having any part of his body in the danger zone during the operating cycle. Building 333, Sheet Metal Work Area: Tennsmith Mechanical Power Shear did not have an awareness barricade or barrier guard behind the shear. Employees were exposed to cut or puncture wounds to body.

Each disconnecting means required by this subpart for motors and appliances shall be legibly marked to indicate its purpose, unless located and arranged so the purpose is evident. Building 333, Business Area: Five (5) circuit breakers 5, 7, 8, 9, and 11 were not marked to identify each breakers intended purpose. Employees were exposed to minor burns and shock.
